SL INTERESTING PLACE NO.10: GNWC: To promote and tie-in with the Masters of Digital Media programme at the Great Northern Way Campus in Vancover, the Centre for Digital Media is a fine example of pushing the design boundaries within SL. It’s also a showcase for integrating real world educational programmes with a virtual platform.

The building, the Centre for Digital Media is a lavish (Scope Cleaver) production, with nautical elements.

The MDM is a 20-month program, including a summer internship and graduates will have the professional skills required to be effective creators, practitioners, and senior managers in this rapidly growing industry.

So, all in all, this SL venue works on several levels. It’s a clear demonstration of applying real world expertise in a metaverse. Secondly, it’s an online destination and portal for both the faculty and the students on the MDM. And thirdly, it’s a virtual colloborative ‘space’.
